The Placer County Association of REALTORS®
(PCAR), Placer County’s largest trade association with over 2,900
members, installed their 2008 leadership team at their annual
Installation Banquet held at Del Webb’s Sun City Lincoln Hills
facility. The 2007 President, Rindy Merrifield, thanked all those who
volunteered their time toward their association and their communities,
while 2008 President, Joe Newton, established the tone for 2008 –
Constant and Never Ending Improvement! Those in attendance were
encouraged and uplifted by the positive message from Ray Johnston,
Founding Pastor of Bayside Church in Granite Bay. Master of Ceremonies,
Jeff Culbertson, kept everything on track and Paula Colombo conducted
the “swearing-in” of the officers and directors.
During the ceremonies, Ray Anderson, of
Buyer’s Advantage Real Estate, was honored as the 2007
REALTOR® of the Year. Ray has been a longtime advocate of
professional standards and ethics in the real estate industry and has
given much of his time toward PCAR’s Professional Standards and
Grievance Committees as well as undertaken the task of developing an
Ombudsman program to assist members and the public with the complaint
process.
John Wheat, of First American Title, was honored
as the 2007 Affiliate of the Year. John has been involved with his
association in so many different ways, usually involving the use of
technology and marketing. John can always be seen volunteering his time
to help his fellow members of the association as well as his fellow
citizens. When John is not busy volunteering at PCAR, he volunteers for
the Wheatland Fire Department. John has recently taken on the role of
chairman of PCAR’s Information Technologies committee and is well
on his way toward helping the association achieve its technological
goals.
Marygeorge Aho, of Coldwell Banker, was honored
with the 2007 Honorary Membership Award. This lifetime honorary
membership award was presented to Marygeorge for her 20+ years of
involvement with her association. Marygeorge has volunteered her time
on the MLS Committee since the mid-eighties and has helped to implement
standards within the MLS including: forms, data input, mapping,
arbitration and rules & regulations. Marygeorge also served as PCAR
President in 1994 and has made a lasting impression on our local
industry.
